“No salary can make up for a poor work environment.” — Philip Kotler

This quote reminds me of a job I once had. On the surface, it looked ideal. Good salary, solid benefits, a company on the rise. But behind the scenes, it was anything but. Promotions had more to do with politics than performance. Leadership felt threatened by talent and responded with control and insecurity. Morale wasn’t just low, it was practically nonexistent.

People with real expertise were sidelined for being “too intimidating,” while underqualified team members were fast-tracked and handed raises that didn’t reflect their skillset. I stayed longer than I should have, waiting for the culture to shift, but it didn’t. Eventually, I realized something painful but important: stability built on dysfunction isn’t actually stable.

Walking away was a turning point and it wasn't easy, but it gave me clarity. Now, through Wildstar Solutions, I work with businesses to actually get their operations and leadership aligned. Because digital transformation, data analytics, project execution—all the stuff we do—only works when teams trust each other and decision-making isn't stuck in the mud.

We’re not a culture consultancy, but we know misalignment when we see it. I’ve seen what happens when culture fails. And that’s exactly why Wildstar’s work goes deeper than deliverables. We help leaders step back, look at the full system and fix what’s really slowing them down.
